You read right folks, the damn new album is done done done! The project officially started October 2009!
We've been playing most of the songs live for a few years. So now you can hear the recorded versions!
We are hoping to play the festival circuit in 2012. We played only one festival this year, called Parks Alive in Kelowna, BC. It was a fun one. You see, we in the Pernell Reichert Band have day jobs. Sometimes the day job can really get in the way of life and the music. We were scheduled to play Parks Alive July 15th, 10:00pm. We had to work that day and some of us, me included had to work the following day. I finished work about 5pm, raced to the car rental place to rent the car (the drum kit and bass amp was being provided so we didn't need to rent a van or haul too much gear) then drove to our practice space, picked up the boys and my guitar. I didn't have time to go home after work, and was stuck wearing my icky green work shirt. We hit the highway. Highway 1 to Hope, the Coquihalla to Merrit, 97c to Peachland, 97 to Kelowna. We arrived at 9:50, with 10 mintues to spare. It was then I realized I couldn't go on stage wearing the icky green shirt. I needed a shirt and fast. Right near the park was a cold beer and wine store, they had shirts but not my cup of tea. I raced over to a Memphis Blues BBQ House and there on the wall, a black medium Tee. I told the long grey haired lady my situation, and that I was supposed to be on stage in less than five minutes! She said "Oh well we better hurry!" She grabbed a small step ladder, grabbed the shirt, told me the price ($25, which I happily paid) then said "off you go! off you go! tut tut, tut tut"! I ran back to Kerry Park, threw the shirt on, grabbed my guitar and we rocked out! The people loved it.
After our 45 minute set, back into the car, back on the road, back to Vancouver arriving 3am or so. Next day, back at work. Boy was I sleepy!
