Early Summer

This summer has been productive, more so than I was anticipating. See, most summers I'm out on the road with music, oil rigs, treeplanting or the usual travelling I like to do: no direction, just killing time on the road. But this year I thought I'd spend more time in Vancouver trying to build up our fanbase. Of course I've been hitting the road for various one or two nighters such as Kelowna, BC's Parks Alive Music series, which I played solo on July 8th. Bussed up, played the show, then missed the damn night bus back and had to hotel it! Why? Because the damn bus station is way the hell out of town and very inconvienient to get to! Still a fun show, 45 minutes on a stage in a small sort of man made lagoon.
The following Wednesday I played with the Arbutus Collective at the Media Club. It was the first time I have ever played as a side man! We opened for Chris Velan of Montreal. His carreer is taking off. Am I jealous? MAYBE! But good on him! And his songs kick.
July 20th I had yet another adventure/out of body experience seeing Social Distortion in Victoria, BC then meeting, yes meeting, Mike Ness after the show!
Spent the rest of August working and getting 'er done ya dig? Working during the summer!? That's the weird part! Why am I not living on the highway, passing out in a tent or lighting a motel room on fire?
Finally August came and I hit the road for a three gig tour of the Kootenays. But that story is for another day, soon....
